Information about the project
The project is the flagship project under e-Government initiative that will address the national digital divide. Among the plans under this project are Community Technology Centres providing Internet Access and training to citizens and computer to every home. In the short-term, the project will carry out 2 projects i.e Pilot scheme that will provide one Community Technology Centre in each of the four districts in Brunei Darussalam and a Research Consultancy to measure and address nation wide digital divide. The main objective of this project is to narrow the digital divide within/between communities. This commitment contributes to various WSIS action lines such as on capacity building, access to information and knowledge, enabling environment and building confidence and security in use of ICTs and cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content. This project has been submitted to the Golden Book database.
