ObjectWeb - a consortium for the sustainable development of open source middleware
As a key enabling technology for the information society, middleware (or “infrastructure software”) is the new frontier for open source. Gathering over 60 stakeholders (academia, industry, government) and over 1500 individuals from over the world, ObjectWeb is a fast-growing, nonprofit organization that focuses on the development of high-quality open source middleware. It targets the collaborative development of an innovation ecosystem where stakeholders could develop beneficial middleware strategies in line with their business and societal requirements, so to contribute to the sustainable development of the Information Society, from a local to a global scale.
