Information about the project
Project title *
Social and Fiscal National Identification System (SINTyS)
Description *
SINTyS´ Goals are the following: To promote the use of ICT in government which is essential to reduce duplication and gaps in fiscal and social information, to improve public sector performance and to target the poor with better services; To develope a new TOOL FOR CITIZENS WITH WHICH THEY CAN EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT TO DEMAND TO GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO MAKE CHANGES IN THEIR PERSONAL DATA, IF NECESSARY, BASED ON THE PRINCIPLE OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION. The mision of the proyect is to transform the current use of government’s information into an efficient, interconnected and transparent model that will better serve the citizens by eliminating fiscal gaps that will be redirected to assist poverty reduction work. Upon completion of the project, therefore, barriers to information exchange among participating agencies will have diminished significantly and the impact will spread to the remaining agencies at all levels of government. A direct benefit of the objective to public sector efficiency is that the projects will provide a platform for a national, provincial and municipal shared information exchange network, in principle an e-Government network for inter and intra-governmental use. Enabaling the Government to offer ‘one-stop’ delivery of multiple value-added and more equitable services to its constituents at all levels of government.
