Information about the project
Cisco Networking Academy-Job Corps Partnership
The Cisco Networking Academy Program helps bridge the gap between those who can effectively use new technology and communication tools, such as the Internet, and those who cannot. Partnerships exists not only internationally but also in the US with key stakeholder groups that are committed to bridging this divide. For the past three years, there has been a partnership between the Cisco Academy program and the Job Corps program (an agency of the US DOL (Dept of Labor)). This partnership has consisted of developing Best Practices, hosting Practioners’ workshops to help the Job Centers implement the Academy program for this at risk population so that they are successful in learning the internet networking skills needed to get meaningful employment.
