Hub for ICT Policy
In March 2002 the Ministry of Science and Technology was renamed the Ministry of Science and Information and Communications Technology (MOSICT) and given with the additional mandate of providing vision, direction, and facilitation to ICT-related activities in Bangladesh. MOSICT has been involved in providing physical and ICT infrastructure facilities for the software industry, drafting the ICT Act, and assisting in the disbursement of equity fund to the ICT sector. Bangladesh Computer Council under MOSICT has been involved in providing ICT training to government officials and citizens, and also in providing various technical assistance and infrastructural support to various e-Government initiatives.
