Flood Control System

Description

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has experienced difficulties in disseminating information about flood points as a preventive measure against disasters. Officers and stakeholders who carry out tasks related to disaster also experience difficulties in terms of coordination. The flood control system is a system built to predict potential disasters before they occur and optimize handling when a disaster occurs. This system aims to increase awareness of community disaster situations, accelerate system-based response to disaster management, prepare for flood emergency conditions, and to carry out real-time monitoring. With the rapid development of technology, we need a system that is able to predict potential disasters before they occur and optimize handling when a disaster occurs. For this reason, it is necessary to build a Predictive Model using Internet of Things (IoT) based technology to produce an accurate and fast decision support system. In the Integrated Flood Control System, there are several stages, namely data processing in real time, using an analysis platform, asset management, and visualization & information sharing. Prior to the Flood Control System platform. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has experienced difficulties in disseminating information about flood points as a preventive measure against disasters. Officers and stakeholders who carry out tasks related to disaster also experience difficulties in terms of coordination.

Replicability

This platform can be replicated in all cities/provinces and countries that require a good disaster management system. In disaster management efforts, it is necessary to have a good flow of information between the government and the community. When the connectivity between one another is well connected, the dissemination of information can also run effectively and efficiently.

Sustainability

Predictive analysis is used to predict when the water pump needs to be activated based on historical sensor data (water level, vibration, temperature) and CCTV. Historical data of active pumps can be identified from the vibration and temperature sensors placed in each pump. By utilizing trends and patterns, data from water level from CCTV and water level from sensors can predict when the pump needs to be activated. The use of this analysis can only be carried out for pump houses that have historical data or pumps have been activated several times after the comprehensive implementation of IoT in DKI Jakarta.

WSIS values promotion

The Flood Control System is an implementation of the government's data-driven policy to the community. This platform is also a forum for creating the values of solidarity, tolerance, and shared responsibility through the assistance feature that allows the community to provide assistance and share information in affected areas. The value of respect for nature is also implemented on this platform through the disaster early information feature so as to enable preventive actions for the community.
