WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event
27-31 May 2024
The WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event in Geneva, an extended version of the WSIS Forum, will mark a significant milestone of 20 years of progress made in the implementation of the WSIS outcomes as outlined in the Geneva Plan of Action in 2003. It will serve as a platform aiming to review the progress made in the implementation of the WSIS outcomes under the mandates of participating agencies. The WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event will host multistakeholder discussions with the objective to take stock of the achievements and key trends, challenges and opportunities, and to evaluate the accomplishments during the two-decade period based on reports submitted from various WSIS stakeholders, including states and WSIS Action Line Facilitators.

The preparatory process is organized as an open and inclusive consultation involving WSIS stakeholders (governments, private sector, civil society, international organizations and relevant regional organizations) focused on developing the programme of the event, collecting inputs to identify gaps of Geneva Plan of Action and the WSIS Action Lines implementation, and contributing to the WSIS+20 review and shaping vision for WSIS beyond 2025.
