A1 Telekom Austria AG is the market leader in the telecoms segment in Austria and combines fixed net and mobile communications. A1 is part of the Telekom Austria Group, one of the leading telecom providers in Europe with more than EUR 4.7 billion in revenues, over 22 million customers and 17,000 employees. As a newly integrated company, A1 counts with more than 10,000 employees. Voice telephony, Internet and television are the four business areas of the company who also is exploring new paths from m-commerce to multimedia. Hannes Ametsreiter

Hannes Ametsreiter was born in 1967. He studied at the University of Salzburg. After completing his doctorate, he continued his education by having participated in the MBA program at Pepperdine University/USA, Executive Education programs at Stanford University/USA and INSEAD/France.

He began his professional career as a brand manager with Procter & Gamble, before joining product management at mobilkom austria in 1996. In 2001, he was appointed Chief Marketing Officer of mobilkom austria. From 2005 to 2006 he held the position of CMO of Mobiltel in Bulgaria.

On July 1, 2007 Hannes Ametsreiter was appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Telekom Austria TA AG. On January 1, 2009 he was appointed CEO of Telekom Austria Fixed Net.

Since April 1, 2009 Hannes Ametsreiter has served as Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Telekom Austria Group. He is also the CEO of A1, which was created following the merger of mobilkom austria AG and Telekom Austria TA AG.

In 2008 Booz & Company awarded Hannes Ametsreiter with the international Marketing Award "CMO of the Year“.

At the 40th Extel Awards 2013, based on a survey conducted by the international news agency Thomson Reuters, Hannes Ametsreiter was named Austria’s “CEO Of The Year”. Between 2009 and 2012 he was a member of the international board of the worldwide industry association "GSMA“.
