Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales (AR-SAT S.A.)

Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales (AR-SAT S.A.) is a government-owned corporation which began operations in July 2006 in accordance with Law Nº 26.092 of the Argentine Republic. Upon formation of ARSAT the national government transferred NAHUELSAT operational assets to AR-SAT. NAHUELSAT had exploited geostationary orbital position 72W by means of NAHUEL I satellite. In addition to establishing the capital structure of the corporation, law N26.092 granted AR-SAT exclusive rights to operate and commercialize the geostationary orbital position of 81W in Kµ band (North & South America) and C band (Hemispheric coverage). AR-SAT also has as its mission the engineering and development of national satellites to be manufactured within the scope of the Republic of Argentina Communications Geostationary Satellite Project. The satellite project commenced in 2007 with the execution of a contract with INVAP, the Atgentine government satellite manufacturer.
