Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar

Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar is the Group Chief Executive Officer at Etisalat. He has previously served as Group Chief Operating Officer, General Manager for Etisalat's Dubai region operations.

In addition to his duties as Group CEO of Etisalat and Chairman of Thuraya’s Board, Ahmad also serves on the Board of two other Etisalat international subsidiaries - Mobily (Saudi Arabia), as its Chairman of the Risk Management Committee; and Excelcomindo (Indonesia), as a member of the Compensation and Renumeration Committee. Ahmad is also a member of the Steering Committee responsible for delivering a nationwide All-IP NGN network in the UAE, which will provide high quality cable TV, Internet and fixed-line telephone (triple-play) services.

Ahmad joined Etisalat in 1986. He served as manager of Customer Service in 1993, General Manager of Comtrust in 2000, General Manager of E-Company in 2004 and General Manager - Dubai Region in 2005. In 2011, he was appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer.

In 2004, Ahmad was one of the first graduates of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Establishment for Young Business Leaders. He has also received degrees in Civil Engineering and Computer Science from the Gonzaga University in Washington, USA.
