David Helfgott

Mr. David J. Helfgott served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Inmarsat Government Services Inc., an affiliate of Inmarsat Group Ltd. since May 2012. Mr. Helfgott served as Head of Business Development, Americas at Inmarsat Plc since April 11, 2011. He served as President of Inmarsat Inc., since April 11, 2011. He joined Inmarsat in 2011 and served as its Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. Prior to joining Inmarsat, he held leadership positions in the satellite communications and intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) technology market including as president of the wireless ISR technology business unit of Cobham plc, as President and Chief Executive Officer of DataPath Inc. and SES Americom Government Services. He served as President of Cobham Surveillance Group. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Rockwell Collins Satellite Communications Systems Inc. and also served as its President and Chief Operating Officer since November 15, 2006. Mr. Helfgott served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Americom Government Services, Inc., (AGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of SES Americom, Inc. (formerly, GE Americom), serving the U.S. civilian and defense-related government broadband communications markets. Mr. Helfgott served as Senior Vice President of Marketing of SES Americom, Inc. since June 2000. His background also includes extensive senior-management experience in sales, marketing and business development for companies such as eFusion, Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions and MCI Telecommunications. In November 2001, Mr. Helfgott led the integration of marketing programs between GE Americom and SES GLOBAL. He held several marketing and sales leadership roles in the telecom industry with over 16 years experience and served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Unibex, Inc., where he led the development of e-commerce business exchanges for industry trade groups. He served as Director of European Market Development of eFusion, Inc., where he was responsible for developing the IP Telephony applications market in Europe for network operators and Internet service providers. He served as Senior Manager of Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions (BAIS), where he led the development of BAIS’ e-commerce strategy. He served as Senior Manager of MCI Telecommunications, where he developed VPN, custom data network and outsourced-services solutions. Mr. Helfgott served as a Director of Rockwell Collins Satellite Communications Systems Inc. Mr. Helfgott holds a BA from University of Virginia and an MBA from the Darden School. He also attended the Wharton School's executive development program.
