Maroc Télécom - Itissalat Al-Maghrib (IAM)

Maroc Telecom, ou IAM, est la 1re société de télécommunications au Maroc née au 1998. Privatisée à partir de 2001, elle devient une filiale du groupe français Vivendi moment dans le quel Maroc Telecom a pris des participations majoritaires dans les opérateurs historiques Mauritel, l’opérateur au Mauritanie, ONATEL au Burkina Faso en décembre 2006, Gabon Telecom au Gabon en février 2007 et SOTELMA au Mali en juillet 2009. IAM a pour objectifs d'être visionnaire et de rester leader sur chaque segment de son marché. En 2008, le parc mobile des filiales atteint près de 3 millions de clients. En Europe, Maroc Telecom a lancé Mobisud, en France en 2006 et en Belgique en 2007. Mobisud est un opérateur virtuel mobile (MVNO) qui facilite les échanges de communications communautaires Nord-Sud.

Mr. Abdeslam Ahizoune
Mr. Abdeslam Ahizoune has been the Chairman of Management Board at Itissalat Al-Maghrib (IAM) S.A. (formerly, Maroc Telecom S.A.) since February 20, 2001 and serves as its President. Mr. Ahizoune serves as Member of Management Board at Universal Music Group, Inc. He served as a Member of the management board of Vivendi Société Anonyme from April 28, 2005 to June 28, 2012. Mr. Ahizoune served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Maroc Telecom from February 1998 to 2001. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Moroccan satellite TV channel Medi- 1-Sat. since 2008. He held the position of Minister of Telecommunications from August 1997 to 1998 and Managing Director of the Office National des Postes et Télécommunications (ONPT) from February 1995 to August 1997 and again from 1997 to 1998. he served as Minister of Postal and Telecommunications Services and Managing Director of the ONPT from August 1992 to February 1995 and Director of Telecommunications in the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications from 1983 to 1992. Since 1982, Mr. Ahizoune held a number of positions in the Postal and Telecommunications Services and then in the ONPT. He serves as a Director of Maroc Telecom S.A. He serves as a Directors of Axa assurances and Holcim Maroc. He has been a Director Mohammed V Solidarity Foundation (Fondation Mohamed V pour la Solidarité) since April 2004; Al Akhawayne University, since November 2003; the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Environment (Fondation Mohamed VI pour l'Environnement) since June 2001. He serves as Director of Lalla Salma Association Against Cancer. Since 2001, Mr. Ahizoune is a member of the Support Committee (Comité de Soutien) of the Mohammed V Solidarity Foundation. He has been Chairman of the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA), since 2006. In 2008, he was appointed Chairman of the Moroccan Association of Telecoms Professionals (MATI). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, France since February 2004. Mr. Ahizoune holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications in Paris (1977).
