Holds a Master’s degree in Science of Engineering –(Electronics Telecom) from the Ecole d’Ingénieurs EPF (Polytechnique Féminine) in 1992 in France.

Holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and MBA “Change & Technology Management” from IAE Aix-En-Provence, France (2002)

With a background in Engineering (Electronic transactions – smart card applications) and over twenty years professional experience, starting with a position of Project Manager in the Industry (Schlumberger, Ascom) to Expert in Strategic planning and Change Management, including capacity building experience and over ten years in International organisations, she has developed extensive knowledge of human resources management theories and principles, and reinforced her competencies in the application of modern management techniques, implementation of human resources planning and career development programmes.

With both Portuguese and French nationalities and excellent practice of English and Spanish, also thanks to the different and diverse positions she held (eg. as CEO of an industrial firm in Switzerland 2009-2011, she developed outstanding interpersonal, negotiating and persuasive skills. She had the chance to follow long-term training in psychology and human relation techniques.

Over the last twenty years, she had the chance to work with international teams, in the private and public sector, in the business and humanitarian environment. She holds the position of Expert at the specialized United Nations Agency the ITU, the International Telecom Union, Development Bureau, and the World Meteorological organization, both with HQ in Geneva, Switzerland. Thanks to these, she had the opportunity to travel in over 60 countries, mostly in the developing regions of the World.

She is now Managing Director of an Intellectual Property Law firm based in Geneva since 2012.

Active member of the French Association of Women Engineers (FI) since 2003, the Portuguese Women in Science Association (AMONET) since 2007 and the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) since 2003, she has taken another challenge since 2011, as first woman president of the Swiss Engineering Geneva chapter. Since 2014, she is also Chairperson of the Romandie Committee of Swiss Engineering, and Director for Europe West of INWES. More recently, as INWES kicked-off in Europe in November 2016, she took over the responsibility of Secretary General of INWES Europe. She speaks today as Vice-President, External relations of INWES.

Yvette is 48, happily married with three children.
