Nobel Laureate Shirin Ebadi speaks on behalf of Civil Society at the opening ceremony of the World Summit on the Information Society on 16 November 2005. Listening on the podium are Mr Yoshio Utsumi, Secretary-General of ITU; Mr Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations; Mr Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, President of Tunisia; Mr Samuel Schmid, President of Switzerland; and Ambassador Janis Karklins, President of the WSIS PrepCom (Tunis phase).
