Open to all WSIS stakeholders that are interested in contributing to the multi-stakeholder teams for the action lines and in particular acting as facilitators/moderators for WSIS Action Lines. The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen synergies across the action lines and address cross-cutting and work towards the finalization the list of moderators/facilitators for the different WSIS Action Lines, as set out in the Annex of the Tunis Agenda. The consultation meeting will discuss the nature of the coordination processes and the expected outputs and the modalities and logistics of the work to be undertaken on WSIS implementation.

The Tunis Agenda for the Information Society identifies UNESCO as taking the lead role in the implementation of cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content (WSIS Tunis Agenda Action Line C8). The aim of the meeting will be discuss the WSIS multi-stakeholder implementation process in the field of cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content. Interpretation will be provided in English and French.

decision
was taken by ECOSOC on 26 April 2007 regarding NGOs and civil society entities
which were accredited to WSIS. They are invited to participate in CSTD for the
next two sessions (tenth and eleventh meeting of the CSTD). If they want to
continue to participate in the CSTD beyond these two sessions, they should apply
for consultative status with ECOSOC. Business entities (including ITU sector
members) which were accredited to WSIS may participate as well in the work of
the CSDT. Their participation will be reviewed by ECOSOC in 2010.
