E-health Interop event

Contact: interop@itu.int

ITU will host an interoperability test event for e-health devices and technology platforms following the guidelines defined by Continua Health Alliance. This event will take place in Dubai, UAE, 18-20 November 2012, in conjunction with a set of other high level events, the CTO meeting, the Global Standards Symposium (GSS) and the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-2012).

This Interop event will promote e-health interoperability and raise awareness of the importance of open, global, common and interoperable standards as stated at the joint ITU-WHO workshop on e-health standards and interoperability (April 2012).

A product showcase, preceded by a closed interoperability testing session, will demonstrate state-of-the-art e-health solutions to a high-powered audience, including strategic decision-makers on the direction of the global ICT industry.

Interoperability Testing
  • The closed interoperability testing event will start on 18 November 2012. Participation will be restricted to engineers from organizations developing e-health solutions. Access to the venue will be limited. All testing will be confidential, and products and equipment will be secured.
Product Showcase
  • An open product showcase will take place on 19 (TBC) - 20 November 2012.  Exhibitors will have a unique opportunity to network with high level decision-makers ranging from governments and regulators to private-sector entities and academic institutions attending the other co-located ITU events. These include the highest decision-making organ of the ITU Standardization Section (ITU-T) which is held every four years. Further information can be found here.
Continua Health Alliance is the international industry organization dedicated to advancing personal connected health by promoting end-to-end, plug-and-play connectivity of personal health devices and establishing industry standards for interoperability.
