Summary: Web-based attacks occur when the vulnerabilities of website hosts are exploited to introduce malicious code that can infect a user's computer. Recommendation ITU-T X.1211 describes techniques that can mitigate such attacks. Several appendices illustrate how the attacks can occur as well as remediation steps.
