Summary: Satellite-based QKD is essential for enabling long-distance and global-scale QKD network. Based on the functional requirements and architecture of QKDN in [ITU-T Y.3801] and [ITU-T Y.3802], this recommendation is to specify one possible set of functional requirements and a possible architecture for satellite-based QKDN, including the overview, the functional requirements, architecture and operational procedures of satellite-based QKDN.
