Summary:

bDDN is a big data driven network that requires distributed computing and parallel computing to analyze network big data and provide intelligence to the network. On the other hand, bDDN also needs to support AI applications. Collective communication refers to communication pattern in parallel computing and distributed computing environment where data is exchanged among multiple processes or nodes through synchronous invocation of specific functions. In bDDN, big data plane need to support collective communication for supporting AI application and big data computing.
This Recommendation specifies the requirements of collective communication for supporting AI application in bDDN. It includes the requirements of network construction, the requirements of network element for collective communication, the requirements of resource scheduling and the requirements of maintenance for collective communication in bDDN.
