Summary: Similar to the problem that general data processing technologies can't be appropriate for big data context (The problem brought about the big data related technologies), general deep packet inspection mechanism and method can't meet the requirements from network big data. On the other hand, big data has 4-V features: Volume, Velocity, Variety and Value. Mechanism of general deep packet inspection mechanism has solved part of the problem related to Value, however, the other three features such as Volume, Velocity, Variety would put forward new problems and challenges to deep packet inspection technologies. The above new problems need to be solved by new mechanism and method. This Recommendation specifies the f Mechanism of deep packet inspection for network big data. It will, a) specify role of deep packet inspection in big data processing procedure; b) specify data classification mechanism used deep packet inspection for big data; c) specify data pre-processing mechanism used deep packet inspection for big data;specify coordination processing mechanism of deep packet inspection in big data context. d) specify interfaces between deep packet inspection and the upper-layer big data related method
