Introduction

The ITU Radiocommunication Bureau intends to perform a yearly cycle of Regional Radiocommunication Seminars, to be held on the different regions worldwide, which will deal with the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and the satellite orbits, and, in particular, with the application of the provisions of the ITU Radio Regulations.

Objectives

This tutorial with the most basic concepts about ITU and ITU-R structures and functions, including Study Groups and BR Departments, and ITU basic texts, mainly focuses on the Radio Regulations (RR) and their associated Rules of Procedure (RoP).

A good understanding of the pre-seminar web tutorial concepts is required to be able to actively participate in the Seminar.

Its history, relevant provisions of Constitution, convention & Radio Regulations, functions and objectives, highlights of the present board's activities.

WRC-12

Overview of the preparations, structure, regulatory issues and ITU-R Studies for WRC-15 on IMT.

WRC-15

Its purpose, overview of the preparations, timetable, information on regional workshops, agenda items.

ITU-R Study Groups

Overview on ITU-R Study Groups that develop the technical bases for decisions taken at World Radiocommunication Conferences and develop global standards (Recommendations), Reports and Handbooks on radiocommunication matters.
