Dr Touré chats with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan

ITU Secretary-General Dr Hamadoun I. Touré was honoured to meet with President Serzh Sargsyan during his recent mission to Armenia.
Welcoming Dr Touré’s visit, President Sargsyan emphasized that Armenia’s recent success in the area of information and communication technology (ICT) development has been as a result of cooperation with ITU, and with Dr Touré personally.
For his part, Dr Touré noted Armenia’s active contribution to the work of the Union, and applauded the country’s efforts to promote digital inclusion. He highlighted Armenia’s impressive intellectual potential and capacity for ongoing ICT development, and reinforced ITU’s wish to support Armenia’s active participation in the various working groups of the Union as well as at forthcoming international conferences.
