ITU posts are grouped into two broad categories- Professional and Higher,  and General Services. 

Professional and Higher category

​Applicants are normally required to have an advanced university degree and experience at national and/or international level in the field of telecommunication, radiocommunication, ICT, business administration, finance and accounts, law and development issues.

General Services category

​Candidates are required to have graduated from secondary school with a diploma, or a technical/ commercial school with a secretarial/ business/ commercial/ technical diploma. They should have the necessary language and good computer skills. Such openings are filled by recruiting in the area of the duty station. Candidates normally reside in the area in which the office is located.
