Condolence message on the sad demise of Mr. Francis Gerard 'Gerry' PERRIN
Former Member and Chairman of the I.F.R.B. (International Frequency Registration Board), ITU


perrin.jpgIt is with great sadness that ITU mourns the loss of our dear friend and former colleague, Mr. Francis Gerard ‘Gerry’ Perrin, former Member and Chairman of the I.F.R.B.

Mr. Perrin was an elected Member of the I.F.R.B. Board from 1975 to 1983 and Chairman of the I.F.R.B. in 1977 and 1982. He contributed largely to the work of coordination, management and mediation by the I.F.R.B., international administrative body for the increasing demand for use of the radio frequency spectrum.

Mr. Perrin was elected Member of the I.F.R.B. in 1974 during the World Administrative Radio Conference for Maritime Mobile Telecommunication held in Geneva. At the time of his election he was Director of International Agreements in the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Communications, Canada.

He graduated as a radio and electronic engineer from Eastern Radio College and University of New Brunswick and had a Certificate in Public Administration and a degree in Political Science and Law from Carleton University.
