Mailing Lists

1. What is the Mailing list subscription service?

The Mailing list subscription service enables members to self subscribe/unsubscribe to the different ITU-T Study Groups mailing lists. This service is available at: https://www.itu.int/ITU-T/services.

2. Who can subscribe to a mailing list?

To subscribe to mailing lists, you need a TIES account or a Guest account

If you don't have a TIES account: If you are not eligible for a TIES account: *Please note that self subscription to most ITU-T mailing lists is available only to ITU-T members with a TIES account. With a Guest account, offered capacities are limited and subscription will require approval from the service owner (Study Group secretariat, Focus Group secretariat, etc.).

3. What are TIES and Guest accounts?
  • TIES account: ITU members can obtain a TIES account and password, which will give them access to all services restricted to ITU membership, including subscription to mailing lists. For more information on TIES, please see What is TIES?
  • Guest account: Guest accounts are accounts allowing access to a limited number of resources available from ITU. While TIES accounts enjoy facilities such as automatic subscription to Study Group mailing lists and access to the ITU-T's Study Group documentation and informal FTP areas, Guest accounts have access only to public resources (for example, newsletter subscriptions). Anyone can create a Guest account, but access to services reserved to members are then granted on a case-by-case basis.
4. With what e-mail address am I subscribed to the mailing list?

Your TIES e-mail address is automatically subscribed and becomes the default subscription e-mail when you join a mailing list. Messages from the mailing lists are sent to your TIES e-mail address by default.

If you have a Guest account, you will be subscribed with the e-mail address that you provided when you registered for a Guest account.

5. How do I change the e-mail address for my mailing list subscriptions?

A. For TIES Users: You may change at any time your mailing list e-mail address by modifying your TIES account profile at: http://www.itu.int/TIES. These changes will be automatically reflected in all of your mailing list subscriptions.

Mail sent to that address will automatically be picked up and redistributed to the mailing list subscribers. Note that senders who write to multiple mailing lists will receive replies from only one of them. This is to prevent spamming senders.
