This session provides a platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by policy makers and regulators during the adoption of a widespread IoT ecosystem. As with many other technologies, there are inherent security risks associated with the deployment of IoT. Accordingly, this session seeks to explore these potential threats and ways to mitigate them using licensing techniques and implementation of international standards.

The build out of the Internet of Things is outpacing desktop and mobile computing.

To realize their full potential, smart cities must utilize a secure and scalable IoT infrastructure that integrates multiple interconnected systems. This session provides a platform to discuss how IoT infrastructures help create more efficient and cost effective service delivery systems, enhance transportation networks, reducing traffic congestion, promote sustainability and keep citizens safe and content.

IoT and Big Data are separate, but related, concepts. There is significant overlap between these two concepts. This session will provide a platform to discuss standardization trends with regard to Big data and IoT ecosystem. It will also provide an opportunity to exchange views on open source, big data, semantic technologies and IoT.
