Companies and states are constantly looking for effective means to stimulate innovation. In general, companies work towards securing new potential revenue streams by engaging in innovative products, solutions, and services deployments. On the other side, governments constantly work towards achieving the maximum possible socio-economic development by means of development oriented strategies, policies, and initiatives. Innovation is considered by the whole industry as a key door towards opening up potentially new business opportunities, while achieving efficiently the targeted economic development.
Crafting such successful strategies, policies, and action items brings crucial questions which this workshop intends to tackle:
- How can we promote the role of standardization on innovation and vice versa inside the standardization and innovation ecosystems?
- What are the main roots behind the skepticism of some entrepreneurs from participating in standardization activities?
The objective of the workshop is to explore the potential benefits related to the role of standardization and the effect of bringing innovations to the ITU-T standardization activities on the development of companies, industries, and countries. The workshop will also tackle the major obstacles facing entrepreneurs in bringing their innovations to standardization with a clear mandate of recommending effective strategies, policies, in addition to actions for their proper inclusion.
