Biographies

 

Ramy Ahmed

Ramy Ahmed is a Senior Manager for the Digital Services Policies at the National Telecom Regulatory Authority of Egypt (NTRA). He has over 10 years of experience in telecommunications regulations and management, especially in the area of market modeling and services planning. He recently participated in formulating a number of high level ICT and next generation strategic directives and policies. He is the technical lead of the market modeling and investment feasibility assessment done in the recently announced Egyptian national broadband plan, eMisr, which proposes different strategic directives to meet Egypt's broadband innovations and services needs.

Mr. Ahmed specializes in the area of telecommunication market modeling, and converged services deployment, network optimization and planning. In this context, he has been involved in the Egyptian national project of the evolution of Digital Broadcast Services. He was also selected as a member of a telecommunication industrial research team for the development of an integrated hybrid LCD-TV in a process of developing the Egyptian TV industry in collaboration with relevant Egyptian stakeholders. He is currently assisting in developing a (Single Frequency Network) SFN based digital transition plan for the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU).

Mr. Ahmed has several publications in the fields of telecommunication management, multi-objective optimization, meta-heuristic algorithms, and generic communication architectures' development for transmission systems and DVB-T/S receivers. Additionally, he is the author of a book on fundamental logic design.
Muna Hamdi, iMobility: Future Vision Group & Virtual Research Centre Lead, University of Huddersfield, UK

Muna Hamdi is an Independent Intelligent Systems consultant, working on problem solving using intelligent techniques, utilising fresh research ideas into innovative industrial project solving real-world problems and communicating new project ideas into research projects and new products. Bridging the Gap between the Academic and Business worlds with wide exposure to UK, EU and Middle East(ME),  Industrial and Research Environment.

Muna has particular interest on Real-Time Dynamic Applications; leading a career that is mainly focused on investigating methods that can be applied to optimise, control and solve real-world problems; in industry, commerce and public services. Working for projects that aim for better quality of life, increasing productivity and profits, by automating systems to work reliably at all times under variety of conditions.

Currently, Muna is working on solving transport problems by forming a Road-Map to the Future Vision of Transport and Mobility. Her focus is on transport systems integration and multimodal travel. With this goal in mind, Muna founded IMobility: FutureVision Group in 2009, where she started building the means that would allow this vision to come true.

In additional to her involvement with transport innovation in UK, Muna is currently building the Future Vision of Intelligent Mobility in Arabia.  Muna believes that The Middle East and North Africa act as a ‘Green Field’ with respect to transport systems, offering a unique opportunity to implement the ITS future model of - ‘Seamless Travel’.

Mohammed Talaat, Chairman of Intelligent Services Solutions ISS Telecom

Mohamed has started his career as a researcher in Faculty of Engineering Cairo university, then worked as a Telecom consultant in different countries in Africa, Europe and Asia. As an Entrepreneur, Mohamed is always focusing on new mobile technologies and applications that make people's life much easier.
