Javier Gil is currently the director in charge of IBM Smarter Cities business for Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel.
Within its area of responsibility is the development and adaptation of the concept of Smarter Cities to the problems of cities and local authorities as well as companies providing services to citizens.
His responsibilities also include the detection and empowering entrepreneurs directly associated technologies related to smart cities.
He holds a degree in Economics and Business from the University of the Basque Country, and owns the PDD from IESE. He is also a regular contributor to business schools and in discussion forums.
His expertise has been developed over 27 years as a business consultant in industrial and consumer products and, over the past eight years in the public sector.
