Glenn Parsons is an internationally known expert in mobile backhaul and Ethernet technology. He has engaged in numerous standards bodies during the last 15 years giving him broad understanding.
Glenn is a standards advisor in the IP & Broadband Development Unit of Ericsson Canada, where he coordinates standards strategy and policy for Ericsson, including network architecture for LTE mobile backhaul. Previously, he has held positions in development, product management and standards architecture in the ICT industry. Glenn has also held several management and editor positions in various standards bodies. He has been an active participant in the IEEE-SA Board of Governors, Standards Board and its Committees since 2004. He is currently involved with mobile backhaul standardization in MEF, IEEE and ITU-T – he is an ITU-T SG15 liaison rapporteur, ITU-T TSAG associate rapporteur and is IEEE 802.1 vice-chair. He has been co-editor of several IEEE ComSoc Magazine series.
Glenn holds a B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
