Prof Dr Khairuddin Ab Hamid is currently Vice Chancellor, University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering (UniMy). He was the former Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He graduated with PhD degree from University of Essex, UK in electronic systems engineering. He has published extensively in journals, proceedings, books, technology guidebooks and encyclopedia. He is active in research work related to rural informatics, wireless technology and renewable energy. He was member of Asian Info-communications Council and currently an expert consultant for Telecommunications Technology Committee of Japan to carry out rural ICT projects in ASEAN countries. He is currently Chairman of the National ICT Human Resource Taskforce, Chairman of the Technical Committee on Collaboration between Malaysia and Infosys Technologies, India and Chairman of Expert Panel on Human Capital Development under the National Information Technology Council. He is also member of the National Science and Research Council and National Higher Education Council.
