The “Training of Trainers on ICT Statistics”, will take place from 4-8 March 2013 in Valencia, Spain. The training is co-organized with UNCTAD, will be hosted by DEVSTAT and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. ITU will cover the sessions on measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals. The training will be delivered to selected Arab, Russian and Spanish-speaking participants, on ICT indicators definition, compilation and dissemination. At the end of the training, the participants are expected to have the knowledge to deliver future trainings on ICT statistics organized by ITU and UNCTAD in countries/regions where those languages are spoken.
A similar “Training of Trainers on ICT Statistics” for English and French-speaking participants was organized by ITU and UNCTAD in 2009. This training is part of ITU’s efforts to assist Member States in the area of ICT measurement and is based on the ITU “Manual for Measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals”, which was published at the end of February 2009.
