BACKGROUND
The meeting on “Enhancing regional cooperation on ICT statistics” will take place in Geneva on 3 October 2016. The meeting is open to regional organizations working in the area of ICT statistics.
The objective of this meeting is to discuss the cooperation and coordination between ITU and regional telecommunication organizations in the area of ICT statistics, particularly in view of the ICT indicators included in the SDG indicators framework. The meeting will be an opportunity to share experiences and discuss methodologies with a view to advancing towards the harmonization of ICT statistics and improving data availability.

This meeting will be held back-to-back with the 2016 meetings of the ITU Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH) and the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI), which will take place in Geneva from 4 to 7 October 2016.
