On the occasion of International Girls in ICT Day, ITU and Com-ITU of CEPT are organizing a joint celebration to be held on 28 April 2016 in Lucerne, Switzerland.
International Girls in ICT Day is a global initiative established upon guidance of the ITU Member States that resolved in Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014) to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs). This global initiative, which is celebrated every fourth Thursday in April, has to date attracted over 177,000 girls and young women in 5,300 events in 150 countries worldwide.
