ITU-ABU Pacific Media Partnership Conference 2014: Partnering for Broadcast Development, 17-19 November 2014, Nadi, Fiji

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) are jointly organising the ITU-ABU Pacific Media Partnership (PMP) Conference 2014 which will be held on 17-19 November 2014 at Sheraton Fiji Resort, Denarau Island, Nadi, Fiji. The conference is supported by the Department of Communications, Australian Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan.

The theme for the event this year is "Partnering for Broadcast Development". The conference is preceded by pre-conference workshops on 17 and 18 November 2014​ which comprise workshops of interest to the Pacific Broadcasters.

The PMP conference provides a great opportunity for the participants to share knowledge and expertise to improve and promote media coverage in the Pacific Islands Countries. The event span over three days during which two days allocated to conduct the pre-conference workshops and the final day to the conference which summarises and integrates findings from each workshop to address how digitalisation and converged media can be used effectively in the Pacific.

ITU is providing a full fellowship (including daily subsistence allowance and round-trip economy class ticket) to one representative from Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) in the Pacific region, subject to availabiliy of funds. The last date for fellowship application is on 24 October 2014.
