The ITU Arab Regional Office in collaboration with Sudatel
Telecom Academy (SUDACAD) of Republic of Sudan will organize the following
events:
- ITU Regional Workshop on
“Prospects of Smart Water Management in Arab Region”, Khartoum-Sudan, 12 December 2017.
- ITU Regional Forum on
“Internet of Things for Development of Smart Sustainable Cities for Arab
Region”, Khartoum-Sudan, from 13-14 December 2017.
The
workshop is aiming to discuss the increasing role of ICT technologies to manage water resources
particularly for agricultural and urban uses in a smart city. Moreover, the workshop will shed light on the
opportunities and challenges for expanding smart water management in the Arab
region.
The
forum objective is to discuss the increasing role of the Internet of Things (IoT) impacting various
areas of development, ultimately contributing to building smart sustainable
cities with integrated ecosystems.
The
events are targeted at the participation of stakeholders involved in the planning and
construction of smart cities, senior municipality managers, engineers working
in IoT applications, service providers planning to deliver IoT and new
technologies for smart solutions including smart water management. These events
are also targeting policy makers and standards issuers as well as IT experts from
the industry, government, academia and independent experts and consultants
involved in the implementation of IoT projects for the development of smart
cities and smart water management.
