The diverse range of ITU members participating in the work of the ITU-D Study Groups submit and gather contributions and case studies on topical ICT matters of interest to the constituents. The groups aim to present practical guidance, through checklists, toolkits, models and guidelines based on their findings from studying applied and evidence-based practices that can make a real difference for countries, independent of their level of development. The upcoming meetings are expected to attract around 150 representatives from public and private entities, as well as universities and research institutions.
In conjunction with the annual meetings of the ITU-D Study Group Rapporteur Groups, an associated Cybersecurity Workshop will take place on 26 January 2017. This workshop will bring together world experts who will share their knowledge and experience on the practical assessment of cyber risks at the national level, in very large organizations, and in critical infrastructure sectors.
Study Group 1 will meet from 27 to 31 March 2017 and Study Group 2 from 3 to 7 April 2017. The meetings aim to finalize the reports and other deliverables requested by WTDC-14 which consist of practical guidance, checklists, toolkits, guidelines and training material. They provide a unique opportunity to exchange ideas on possible study topics for the future. The deliverables for the study period will be submitted for approval during these final ITU-D Study Group meetings and subsequently presented to WTDC-17.
