ITU-IMPACT meeting within the African Forum on Best Practices in ICT

​International Telecommunication Union (ITU)  supported the Government of Burkina Faso in organizing the “African Forum on Best Practices in ICT” held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, October 10-12, 2013. ​

 
The Forum positions the data revolution as an emerging pillar of Africa’s development agenda; it was attended by ICT Ministries, regulators, fixed and mobile network operators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and leaders of the content and knowledge industries bringing them face to face with heads of government, multilateral agencies and international civil society. 

 
The 10 October, under the patronage of the President of Burkina Faso H.E. Blaise Compaore’, the ITU in collaboration with the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyberthreat (IMPACT), organized a one day “ITU-IMPACT and Member States Meeting”, aimed at sharing with the ITU Member States the current status of the ITU-IMPACT initiative and related achievements, plans for future activities, and to provide a platform for discussions on the long term sustainability of ITU-IMPACT.
