Information Security Management Training, 22-26 November 2015, Djibouti

Djibouti_2.jpgThe ITU-ARCC and in cooperation with ITU-ARO conducted a workshop on Management Training for a five day period from 22nd – 26th November in Djibouti City - Djibouti. The workshop is part of an ongoing ITU project for Least Developed Countries (LDC) aimed to provide a highly extensive program to address the cybersecurity needs and requirement of  LDCs in the Arab region.

The mission involved the engagement of stakeholders that have significant roles in cybersecurity, focusing on critical and public sector organizations, in order to build cybersecurity capabilities as well as assess the readiness of the partner countries to develop and implement key cybersecurity measures.

The workshop was held under the auspices of the General Manager of Djibouti Telecom and received over 30 high-level delegates from the government, law enforcement and private sector, such as the National Police, Central Bank, general secretariat of the government, the department of the Prime Minister, Chamber of commerce and University of Djibouti.

The Management training program introduced the attendees to cyber threats and vulnerabilities that a country or organizations can inevitably encounter following with a detailed topic on national cybersecurity strategy and business continuity and disaster recovery planning. The program also included various topics that emphasize the importance for strengthening the countries cybersecurity capabilities. Child online protection was also included the agenda due to its significant importance for the future of every nation.
