Telephones

The telephone network is operated by the national telecommunication organizations ETISALAT and DU.

The international dial code for UAE is +971. Discount rates for international direct calls apply from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and all day on Fridays and public holidays. There is a complete list of rates at the back of each telephone directory.

Telephone cards can be purchased at DWTC premises.

Please note that you can not use a local SIM card if your mobile phone is not unlocked.

Please keep in mind that typically in Europe, Middle East and Asia most telecom providers use the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands. If you wish to use your own mobile phone in UAE, you should verify in advance that your phone supports 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands.
