Confirmation of registration

Upon registration, you will receive an acknowledgement of request to participate in the meeting(s). Confirmation of registration will be sent within 3 working days and will contain your registration identification number (ID) as well as detailed information on where and when to collect your badge.

In case of special needs, please contact the Secretariat at sg-registration [@] itu.int

Visa Assistance (for meeting held in GENEVA only)

The ITU Secretariat provides administrative support to participants having difficulty in obtaining a visa.

Request for visa assistance can be made online by the focal point upon registration of participants.

In case the request for visa assistance is not made online, an official request duly signed by the responsible person of the entity to be represented should be submitted to the ITU Secretariat (fax No. +41 22 730 6627) providing applicant details as follows:

Registration identification ID Number

First name, Last name

Date of birth

Passport number, date of issue, date of expiry
Photocopy of passport

Please note that citizens of some countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter and spend any time in Switzerland. The visa must be requested at least four (4) weeks before the date of beginning of the meeting and obtained from the office (embassy or consulate) representing Switzerland in your country or, if there is no such office in your country, from the one that is closest to the country of departure. If problems are encountered, the Union can, at the official request of the administration or entity you represent, approach the competent Swiss authorities in order to facilitate delivery of the visa but only within the period mentioned of three weeks.

The ITU Secretariat cannot intervene to obtain entry visas to Switzerland issued at the airport.

Webcast

Meetings of Council Working Groups will be audio-webcasted and can be followed from an internet connected laptop or PC.

Access to audio-feeds is restricted to TIES users.

Remote participation:

The Secretariat is providing webconferencing facilities* for Council Working Groups.

Remote active participation can be provided upon request.

Delegates who decide to participate remotely will be able to:

  • Follow presentations and documents presented in the ITU Conference Room

  • Join the audio-conference using callback (to a local landline number)

  • Listen to the English feed of the discussions from the meeting room as well as interventions by other remote participants

  • Communicate with the remote conference host and other participants via chat

  • Make interventions via the audio-conference bridge.  This will be heard by delegates in the meeting room as well as other remote participants

  • Raise hand to request the floor 

The conference will be recorded and available once the Working Group has finished.
