Group of Experts to review the provisions of Chapter II of the ITU Convention
(Council Resolution 1131)
Pursuant to Resolution 76 (Minneapolis, 1998), the Council of the Union
decided, by its Resolution 1131, to set up a group of experts appointed by Member States,
with the following terms of reference:
1) to review the provisions of Chapter II of the Convention on the
basis of proposals made to the Plenipotentiary Conference (Minneapolis, 1998) and of
subsequent contributions from Member States, and to identify those provisions that may be
transferred to a separate instrument of the Union;
2) to prepare a report for consideration by the Council and
transmission of the next plenipotentiary conference.
In accordance with the Council's decision, an invitation was extended to
Member States to participate in the meeting of the Group of Experts held from 2-4
May, 2001 at ITU headquarters in Geneva.
