Sponsorship Options for WORLD 2009

Sponsorships are sold on a first-come, first-served basis to exhibitors and non-exhibitors alike. As exhibitors are eligible for discounts, sponsorship is particularly advantageous when coupled with a presence on the Showfloor or in Telecom Village. Costs below include standard and discounted prices in Swiss Francs (CHF).

 

High-Level Audience

Heads of State Zone [SOLD]
A dedicated area of approximately 1,000 m² is constructed in Hall 1 of Geneva-Palexpo for the exclusive use of the Heads of State Programme. Restricted to Heads of State and Heads of Government, this area comprises a hospitality area and meeting environment for a number of activities including Roundtable and Private Sessions with CEOs. The CEO of the sponsoring company will be invited to join the Private Sessions. Visibility for the sponsor will be provided through branding of the zone. A small hospitality area will be available within the zone for use by sponsor’s C-level company representatives.
 

Opening Ceremony [SOLD]
The Opening Ceremony marks the launch of WORLD 2009 in front of the event’s key stakeholders (UN Secretary-General, Heads of State and other VVIPs, Ministers, Regulators, Ambassadors, Directors General, CEOs, Forum Speakers, Exhibitors, Media, Youth, etc.) The sponsor is invited to design and implement the ceremony in cooperation with ITU. Benefit with an industry speaking slot at the ceremony, company logo on the invitations, and invitations for own guests with reserved seating. The sponsor’s company logo and branding may be included on ceremony decorations.

 

Ministers’ Lunch [SOLD]
ITU will host a luncheon for Ministers on Monday 5 October for a maximum of 200 guests. As well as Government Ministers’ the guest list will include other VIPs attending the opening day of WORLD 2009 including CEOs, Heads of Agencies, Regulators etc. The sponsor will have visibility on the invitations and within the lunch area and be provided with 25 invitations for their own senior company representatives or guests to join the lunch. There will also be an opportunity to give a short welcome address to the participants.

 

Heads of State Lunch [SOLD]
With a similar audience, and also within the context of the Heads of State Programme, a Heads of State lunch hosted by ITU’s Secretary-General is prepared for Heads of State and Government. VIPs on the guest list will include CEOs, Ministers, Heads of Agencies, Regulators etc. The lunch is scheduled for Tuesday 6 October for a maximum of 250 guests. The sponsor will have visibility on the invitations and within the lunch area. There will also be an opportunity to give a short welcome address to the participants.

 

VIP Power Lunch - [SOLD]
These lunches are arranged within the VIP Programme and only open to VIPs, namely Ministers, CEOs, Heads of UN Organizations, Director Generals and other senior officials. Power Lunches are events where the sponsor can ensure a lively discussion – the format can vary but the core process is knowledge exchange and engagement around key issues identified by the sponsor and approved by ITU. The CEO of the sponsoring company will have the opportunity to address the participants and invite one special guest. The sponsoring CEO is also invited to join a Heads of State Private Session with CEOs on Tuesday 6th October. One lunch will take place each day on Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th, each for a maximum of 100 participants.

VIP Meet-a-Leader Sessions - [SOLD]
Conducted within the VIP Programme, the CEO of the sponsoring company will engage in moderated discussion with a moderator engaging the CEO in a lively interview-style conversation with audience Q&A. Topics reflect an industry agenda that the CEO feels passionate about and wishes to bring to the attention of a global audience. This is an extraordinary opportunity to reach outstanding leaders in the ICT sector by discussing key concerns in the contemporary world. The sponsor may invite one special guest and the sponsoring CEO is also invited to join a Heads of State Private Session with CEOs on Tuesday 6th October. One session will take place each day on Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th, each for a maximum of 150 participants.
 
Heads of State Welcome Dinner [SOLD]
By far the most prestigious social event of WORLD 2009, the Heads of State Welcome Dinner will be attended by Heads of State and Government with a VIP guest list including CEOs, Ministers, Heads of Agencies, Regulators etc. The dinner is scheduled for the Sunday previous to the event and can accommodate a maximum of 250 guests. Sponsorship includes visibility on invitations and within the dinner venue. The sponsor’s C-level representative is invited to join the greeting line and give a short welcome address during the dinner.
 
VIP Cocktail [SOLD]
What better way to communicate with highest level participants than through an exclusive networking event. Drinks and canapés are organized in your name for some 300 VIPs. Display your logo and company branding in this smart cocktail environment and meet and greet those participants certain to advance your business objectives. Logos are also included on invitations with a number of invitations reserved for special guests of the sponsor. The sponsoring CEO is invited to address participants at the cocktail and will be invited to join the Heads of State Private Session with CEOs on Tuesday 6th October. The VIP Cocktail is scheduled early evening on Tuesday 6th.
 

Targeted Audiences: Forum, Media, Youth

Media Centre
The Media Centre hosts some 700 local and international media representatives onsite at Geneva-Palexpo. The layout includes a work area, lounge, cafeteria and interview rooms. The sponsor has dedicated use of an interview room and priority booking of a prime press conference slot. Branding is available to the sponsor throughout the media centre, including the plasma screens providing Forum feed to the journalists.

Youth Forum Lunch Sessions (3 Remaining)
Youth related sponsorships are always popular because of the dynamic and enthusiastic audience. Youth fully engage in these sessions that are informative for the youth, and incite lively debate and a better understanding of key issues. Sponsorship of one of the Youth Lunch Sessions is an opportunity for your senior official to host and address the youth on an issue key to your organization. This sponsorship also contemplates a speaking opportunity in the Youth Forum sessions, as well as distribution of promotional materials. Lunch sessions are for 300 people, per session.

Note: other items in connection with the Youth Forum programme such as bags and caps can be discussed.

 
Forum Dinner [SOLD]
Held at all ITU TELECOM events, the Forum Dinner is a vibrant event tradition that gathers some some 300 Forum speakers, ITU TELECOM Board of Directors, ITU elected officials & representatives for dinner and entertainment. ITU TELECOM organizes the dinner in the sponsor’s name and provides 20 Forum dinner invitations for sponsor’s guests. Sponsorship includes visibility on invitations and within the dinner venue. The sponsor’s C-level representative is invited to join the greeting line and give a short welcome address during the dinner.
 
Forum Coffee Breaks  [SOLD]
A coffee-break area is set up outside the main Forum rooms for delegates and speakers to gather twice daily for coffee, tea and light refreshments between forum sessions. This sponsorship also includes visibility at a forum speakers’ briefing session breakfast. The company logo or message is displayed on plasma screens in the coffee break area, and distribution of company materials is possible.
 

General Audience

SponsorshipEvent Registration  [SOLD]
With both online and onsite systems, all event participants register and receive an access badge. As all participants complete a registration process, this is a popular high-visibility sponsorship opportunity. Company logo and sponsor acknowledgement are displayed throughout the setup, including prior to the event on the online registration pages and confirmation documents. Plasma screens in the registration areas ensure sponsor’s message reaches visitors, exhibitors, forum, and media representatives.
Information Counter (multiple sponsorships)
Located near entrances as well as inside halls and the conference area, visitor information attendants provide assistance to ease participation throughout the event. Company logo and branding figures on counters as well as on over-hanging plasma screens.

Option: branded shirts provided by sponsor can be worn by counter attendants.

 

USB Keys [SOLD]
ITU will distribute official event documentation to VIPs, exhibitors, speakers, delegates and media participants on USB keys. Exhibitors will also be encouraged to provide their own materials for download to the keys when clients visit their stands, allowing participants to take their entire WORLD 2009 experience home with them in their pocket. The USB key is stamped with the sponsor’s logo and a corporate brochure/message can be preloaded.

 

Lanyards [SOLD]
Everyone notices the lanyard around everyone else’s neck. Printed with both sponsor and ITU logos, one of these neckbands is provided with every access badge which provides excellent visibility throughout the event.

 

Notepads [SOLD]
Notepads are available in forum rooms and VIP lounges as well as at the information counters. Sponsor’s logo/message accompanies the ITU event logo on 5000 pads that are used throughout the event.

 

Pens [SOLD]
Pens are made available in forum rooms and VIP lounges as well as at the information counters. Sponsor’s logo/message accompanies the ITU event logo on 5000 pens that make their way to homes and offices around the world after the event.
