AsiaWorld-Expo is situated next door to Hong Kong International
Airport. The modern complex is located at the centre of an extensive and
efficient air, land and marine transport network connecting Hong Kong with
China's Pearl River Delta and the world's business capitals.
BY AIRPORT EXPRESS/MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY (MTR)
The easiest and fastest way to get to AsiaWorld-Expo for
World 2006 is to take the convenient Airport Express Train to the in-venue
station. Trains depart every 12 minutes and the frequency and capacity can
be extended to meet peak hour demand during the event. Service hours are
currently 0550 to 0048 (departing from Hong Kong Station) and 0600 to 0045
(departing from AsiaWorld-Expo Station).
The Airport Express Line is connected to Hong Kong's
extensive, safe and convenient Mass Transit Railway (MTR).

SPECIAL FARE PACKAGE USING AN OCTOPUS CARD
Special fares for a same-day round trip to AWE are offered to passengers using
an
Octopus
Card and staying at AWE for over two hours (counting the time difference
between exiting the gate and re-entering the gate at AWE). The Octopus Card is a
unique electronic purse widely used in all Hong Kong's public transports
(including AEL, MTR, and franchised buses), convenience stores, vending
machines, carparks, etc. The Cards are available for sale in any MTR station
(including Airport Express stations and at the Airport and AWE), and in a number
of outlets such as bus stations. Additional value can be loaded to the cards at
any location that accepts them for payment.
Airport Express passengers using Octopus Cards can also enjoy free MTR
connections to or from Airport Express stations if their cards have usable
values and their travel on the MTR and Airport Express is within one hour of
each other.

From the Hong Kong Airport
There are two well-indicated Airport Express Information
Counters in the Arrival Hall, at Areas A and B, where you can buy tickets or
an Octopus Stored Value Card. From the Arrival Hall, take the
escalators or lifts to the Airport Express upper platform (follow the
"Trains to AsiaWorld-Expo" signs). The ride to AW-E takes 1 minute.
You may also want to use AW-E's conceirge service to have your luggage
transferred from the Aiport and stored at AW-E after you have collected them
at the airport baggage claim area. Click for

DISCOUNTED TRAVEL ON MTR AND AIRPORT EXPRESS –
TELECOM CONNECT

TELECOM
WORLD 2006 commuters travelling to/from AsiaWorld-Expo can purchase a
special travel card for ITU TELECOM
WORLD 2006 called TELECOM Connect. For just HK$370, the
card will enable its holder to enjoy unlimited rides for 12 days from 28
November to 9 December 2006 inclusive on the Airport Express Line and all Mass
Transit Railway services comprising six lines - the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan,
Island, Tung Chung, Tseung Kwan O and Disneyland Resort Lines.
A limited number of cards are available and sales are
first-come, first-served basis.

BY KOWLOON
CANTON RAILWAY (KCR)
The KCR predominately
serves the Kowloon and New Territories areas of Hong Kong. Participants from
Mainland may enter Hong Kong through Lo Wu to Sheung Shui Station and take KCRC
Rail-bus Link (only available on 4 – 8 December 2006) to AWE. KCR also connects
with the MTR and fares are payable with Octopus Cards and cash.
BY PUBLIC BUS
Participants can travel by public franchised bus to AWE.
Travel time depends on the route and traffic conditions. All public buses in
Hong Kong are modern, clean and air-conditioned and accept Octopus Card and
coins for fare payment. There are 10 public routes to and from the venue.
Please note all bus routes mentioned below will be
truncated from 4 – 8 December 2006 (5 days inclusive), and will stop at the Hong
Kong International Airport Terminal. Free shuttle bus services will be available
from the Airport Terminal to the West Entrance of AWE.

BY TAXI
You can take a taxi
directly to AW-E. Travel time varies (depending on traffic) between 30-50
minutes from the downtown area. For a taxi from Hong Kong Island, expect
to pay around HK$ 300 (USD45) one way. From Kowloon, expect to pay around
HK$ 250 (USD32) one way. All taxis have metres.
Click

Participants can also consider taking a taxi to the nearest
Airport Express Station and then take the Airport Express train to AWE. Note
that only Urban (red) and Lantau (blue) taxis are allowed on the airport island.
New Territories taxis (green) are not allowed. As a general indicator: Urban
taxis charge HK$ 15 for the first 2 kilometres and HK$ 1.4 for every 0.2
kilometre thereafter. Lantau taxi charges HK$ 12 for the first 2 kilometres and
HK$ 1.2 for every 0.2 kilometre thereafter. Taxi drop-off and pick-up is located
at the Taxi Stand, a few metres away from the East Entrance of the centre.

south façade of the centre.
BY PRIVATE CAR
A dedicated lane will be
reserved for VIP drop-off and pick-up at the East Entrance of AW-E. Cars
will only be permitted to access this dedicated lane if they are displaying the
special sticker which will be distributed by ITU for designated cars.

All other private cars must
proceed to the Sky City Car Park
where a pick-up/drop-off area is set up. Passengers will then access the venue
from the West Entrance of AWE. No parking is allowed at the East or West
Entrances and therefore VIP cars after drop-off must also proceed to one of the
nearby car parks as directed if they need to stay in the vicinity of the venue.

Note that for long term
parking it is possible to purchase a day or night ticket after the vehicle has
been parked in order to obtain a discounted rate as opposed to the standard
hourly rate.

BY PRIVATE COACH
You can charter your own
coach for travelling to AW-E. Coach drop-off and pick-up is located at the
West Entrance of the centre.
In order to avoid traffic
congestion in the vicinity of the West Entrance, you must register your coaches
with AsiaWorld-Expo - please see details
here. Access
will be limited to permit-holders only. Coaches that have not been registered
might be turned away in order to give priority to registered coaches during peak
hours.
Coach drivers will be
required to follow the instructions of the AW-E security staff at all times.
BY CROSS BORDER BUS
Comprehensive cross border
bus services also provide easy land access to/from the mainland. AW-E in
partnership with two leading companies, offers daily cross border bus services
between the venue and the South China cities of Guangzhou, Dongguan and
Shenzhen. Both companies have onsite counters at AW-E.
