"VIPA AVAILABILITY" - ONLINE INTERVIEW SCHEDULE (VIPA)

As an integral part of the TELECOM Online Networking system, the ITU Telecom Media Relations team has set up an interactive interview schedule to facilitate contact between VIPs (officially registered government officials, CEOs and Forum speakers) and the media/analyst community. Officially registered VIPs may access both the TELECOM Online Networking system and the VIP Availabilty for Interviews option through the username and password they would have received from our Forum and Protocol divisions.

We ask that these VIPs provide the dates and times of their availability for media/analyst interviews directly into the Networking system. Journalists and analysts will then be able to access this information and set up interviews accordingly. Please rest assured that only ITU accredited media and analysts will have access to the interview schedule.

VIPs also have the possibility to register a point of contact (VIPA Contact) who will be able to manage their interview schedule and incoming requests. If a Press Officer has already been designated to act as their media representative at WORLD 2003, VIPs will find their Press Officer’s contact details automatically entered as their VIPA Contact. These details may be modified or replaced with a different contact person, as required. Please ensure that the VIPA Contact has access to the VIP’s agenda and the ability to accept or deny interview requests on their behalf both during and prior to the Event.

By early September, the VIPA interview schedule will be accessible via the TELECOM Online Networking system to media and analysts to start requesting the available slots. Their requests will be sent to the VIPA Contact who can either accept or deny the request directly through the email system. Once this action has been taken, the interview schedule will automatically be updated online with accepted requests being marked as ‘reserved’. Journalists/analysts and the VIPA Contact can then discuss details such as location, topics, etc. independently from the Networking system.

We trust this system will enable VIPs to meet with a maximum number of journalists and analysts.
