ESEO trains engineers in the field of electronics, computer engineering, control systems, telecommunication and networks (3300 graduates since its creation in 1956). Research activities are: technology transfer, research and development, technical assistance consultancy, feasibility studies. The main domains are: electronics and microelectronics, power electrotechnics and electronics, software engineering and data processing systems, automation and corporate data processing, networks and telecommunications, signal processing. Electronics research concerns: 1)Tools and circuits of signal and image processing for instrumentation. 2)Technologies of high frequencies applied to radio communications and to the components' EMC. In computer engineering: cooperative and distributed systems.
