Conferences and Publications Department - Welcome

Multilingualism is at the very heart of the United Nations family of international organizations. It gives an organization such as ours the means to be effective, useful and relevant by enabling people from all over the world to communicate and reach agreement on the wide variety of issues dealt with in ITU.

The mission of the Conferences and Publications Department (C&P) is thus to provide ITU and its constituents with the linguistic and logistical expertise necessary to ensure the successful organization and smooth running of conferences and meetings.

To this end, C&P ensures the availability of the necessary infrastructure and facilities for holding a conference or meeting, in Geneva or other locations worldwide, recruits teams of experienced interpreters and produces documents and publications in the six languages of the Union (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish). All these activities are supported by the necessary information technology.

For C&P, service is a key concept and user satisfaction a priority, since it is the reliability of our services which enable the Union’s membership to communicate and lay the foundations of the infrastructure that is essential to the harmonious development of the information society.

C&P welcomes you to its pages, which have been completely redesigned to provide a more concise overview of its services and put you in touch with the relevant contacts. You will also find practical information about Geneva to assist you with forthcoming trips to ITU headquarters. Our aim, moreover, is to make these pages increasingly useful, and we would therefore highly appreciate your feedback on their content and structure via the Your feedback link on the left of the page.

Chief, C&P
