| As part of the ITU General Secretariat, ITU Telecom
organizes major events for the world's ICT community. Our events
provide a unique global networking platform where great minds, companies
and new technologies connect. An ICT
Exhibition and Forum are primary elements that comprise World and
Regional ITU Telecom events that convene ICT leaders and serve the
global telecommunications/ICT community. ITU Telecom Mission
ITU Telecom brings together the most influential representatives of
government and the telecommunications industry for the exchange of
ideas, knowledge and technology for the benefit of the global community,
and in particular the developing world.

- Marketing and Sales Division (MSD)
For coming up 40 years, the Exhibition that established the
Telecom brand in 1971 has offered the most comprehensive
display of cutting-edge telecommunications/ICT equipment and
services from around the world. The Marketing and Sales
Division promotes Telecom events for global and regional
audiences. Preparing exhibiting and other visibility
opportunities for ICT companies and stakeholders results in
one of the world’s most influential showcases for all that
is remarkable in current communications technology and
future ICT developments. MSD maintains active dialogue with
participants to ensure events meet the needs and
expectations of an increasingly diverse and dynamic ICT
community.
Head of the Division: Mr Hamid Massoudi
- Forum Division (FOD)
The Telecom Forum provides a unique platform for all
stakeholders in the ICT sector to exchange information and
understand emerging trends in telecommunications/ICT. The
Forum integrates different perspectives, such as the legal,
regulatory, economic and technical issues, to facilitate
detailed understandings of the societal contributions that
the ICT sector can make. FOD monitors and analyses
technological, regulatory, economic developments and, in
collaboration with other ITU sectors, industry leaders,
academia and other key stakeholders, interprets trends and
proposes innovative themes and content to engage the world
ICT community. Through a variety of activities, such as the
Telecom VIP Programme, the knowledge platform and the Forum
itself, the FOD works to bridge public and private arenas
for a global ICT context conducive for advancing
communications world-wide.
Head of the Division: Professor Howard Williams
- Technical Operations Division (TOD)
With an ITU Telecom events portfolio that reaches around the
world, the Technical Operations Division coordinates
operating aspects that form the backbone of all Telecom
events. Facilitating technical and logistical implementation
involves partner interface with a number of stakeholders in
areas such as stand construction, registration, transport,
freight, accommodation, security, protocol, signage and
decoration. From establishing and ensuring smooth
implementation of technical and venue requirements to
sourcing temporary staff and coordination of catering
services, TOD ensures smooth functioning from initial host
country and venue agreements through to the close of the
event.
