In the last few years Eutelsat has been among the leading forces that have created the
offer of Broadband Multimedia Services via satellite in Europe. In the early 90’s being
among the founders of the DVB project Eutelsat has created the premises that today have
materialized into more than 1200 digital TV channels broadcasted through Eutelsat satellites.
In the mid 90’s it has been at Eutelsat initiative the development of the DVB-IP standard;
today a widely accepted worldwide standard. This standard used for conveying IP over DVB contents
(Streaming Channels, Push Contents, WEB contents, etc.) have been initially used for B-to-B
applications with more than 30 platforms on Eutelsat satellites using today this technology.
More recently with the launch of the Open Sky services Eutelsat is extending the use of the
DVB-IP technology also to the consumer market creating a wide offer of services from Multicast
Streaming and Push Services to Fast Internet Services aiming at the development of the so-called

Finally with the evolution towards personal broadcasting any customer today having his own web
