Dr. Sathya RAO

Dr Sathya Rao has a doctoral degree from the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland.
He was working as a head of the department in Ascom Transmission systems, where he was responsible for the development of UMUX, SDH transmission system and ATM networks. In 1995, he founded TELSCOM along with some experts from his team. He was a consultant to Ascom, Swisscom and many industrial companies in the area of Network design, deployment and operation. He has also given courses and consultancy services on behalf of ITU to many administrations. 
Dr. Rao is also involved in European telecommunications research projects and was one of the core members of the team responsible for defining the European research framework on advanced communications, ie RACE and ACTS. 
Telscom is very active in many European R&D projects addressing advanced technologies and services. He was a technical leader of NGN Initiative project to define the NGN Roadmap.
TELSCOM has grown ever since into a company which is involved in consultancy services related with SDH optical networks , ATM system development and converging networks based on IP to provide service independent networks in optimizing the operational costs and increasing revenue. He has published many papers and has several patents. 
Dr. Sathya Rao has published 3 books on broadband networking issues as an editor and is an editor-in-chief of the journal ' Interoperable Communication Networks (ICON)'. Under the patronage of the European Commission, he has organised many international workshops, and distributed seminars using the ATM, IP and IPv6 broadband networks and applications across European centres. "
